Improving the seismic rating and helping to connect the building with its surroundings
We were engaged by Tauranga City Council to produce a seismic report for the art gallery, a challenging 1960s building with complex seismic issues, which we turned around quickly, producing a detailed report which enabled the Council and Art Gallery stakeholders to clearly understand the seismic issues with the existing structure. We were then asked to produce a seismic strengthening works design along with a new entry and café structure to give the building a facelift and integrate with Art Gallery with the redevelopment of the adjacent Masonic Park.
