Breathing new life into a character building while creating flexible commercial space in the heart of Ponsonby.
Structure Design was engaged by Urban Collective to provide structural engineering services for the heritage building located on the prominent corner of Ponsonby Road and Cowan Street as part of the wider Ponsonby on Pompallier development.
Originally constructed in the early 1900s, the building plays an important role in the character of the Ponsonby streetscape. The project sought to retain and celebrate the building’s historic frontage while transforming the space to accommodate contemporary commercial and retail tenants.
