Karl is experienced at producing detailed structural drawings forming in-situ reinforced concrete, precast concrete, steel, masonry and timber construction. He has a particular interest and experience in multi-level residential and high-rise structures.

- Ravenscar House, Christchurch - Award-winning residence and museum incorporating a base-isolated structural system above basement parking. Complex detailing to accommodate seismic movement and protect internal architectural and display elements.
- Edition Apartments, Parnell, Auckland - Eight-storey residential building on a steeply sloping site, comprising six levels of apartments over two basement levels. Includes retaining structures, split-level floor plates, and detailed coordination of vertical and lateral systems.
