RESERVE BANK OF FIJI:
REPLACING THE FACADE
We were engaged by the architect involved in the upgrade of the Reserve Bank building in Suva because the facade needed replacing. Our role was to undertake wind modelling to develop the wind loads for the new facade but we used the opportunity to access the seismic capacity of the existing building at the same time.
Benefits of having us on the team:
Our work gave the client comfort their building would perform in the event of an earthquake and the reassurance that they didn’t need to spend money upgrading it.
This work has given us relevant knowledge of both cyclonic wind loads and earthquake loads in Suva.
