Making Concrete Look Great

The client has a love of concrete, which defined it as the core material. The client and architect wanted a very fine structure of minimal proportions, a challenging task given the size of the cantilevers, unsupported spans and curved feature walls.

The curved concrete form of the building folds down from the roof to also form the walls and floors, which have significant spans and cantilevers. The building utilises virtually all types of concrete construction, including post-tensioned insitu concrete slabs to achieve the spans and cantilevers.
