We designed the structure for this importance level 3, three-storey classroom block to house over 250 students. The building houses two science labs and student outdoor spaces on the ground floor, with nine classrooms and a student common area on the two upper floors.

We collaborated closely with the architect (DCA Architects), the Contractor (Pure Construction New Zealand) and the school from the start to produce a solution that ticked all the boxes in a short timeframe – we produced the design for consent in six months in 2023. The structure is an open plan steel frame solution with a part pre-cast concrete basement structure cut into a bank.
