AWARD WINNING OXFORD TERRACE
We’re thrilled to announce that Structure Design, in collaboration with Phoenix Consulting and Russell Property Group, have won an award from The Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE) in London for our work on the 66 Oxford Terrace project in Christchurch, NZ!
This exciting project involved the restoration and redevelopment of a 12-storey apartment tower, which had been vacant since the 2011 Canterbury earthquakes. After our client brought the building, a design competition was held to find an innovative and cost-effective way to bring it back to life. Together with Russell Poole of Phoenix Consulting, we presented a groundbreaking solution and emerged winners. The outcome of this collaboration is a stunning transformation into a premium residential complex, seamlessly blending structural preservation with cutting-edge design to create a high-end apartment building.
For over 50 years, these prestigious awards have celebrated exceptional contributions by structural engineers to the industry, society, and engineering literature – and we’re proud to be a part of it!
