The client has a love of concrete, which defined it as the core material. The client and architect wanted a very fine structure of minimal proportions, a challenging task given the size of the cantilevers, unsupported spans and curved feature walls.
The curved concrete form of the building folds down from the roof to also form the walls and floors, which have significant spans and cantilevers.The building utilises virtually all types of concrete construction, including post-tensioned insitu concrete slabs to achieve the spans and cantilevers.

- By using posts running down the site of the master bedroom that act in both tension and compression to load share between floors over time due to possible concrete creep effects.
- This building, believed to be one of the largest reinforced concrete residential houses in New Zealand, was recognised twice at the 2015 Concrete Awards.
